I met Gbenga over 10 years ago at the gym. As we continued to develop a great relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared passion for health and wellness. After switching to working from home in 2020 I noticed my activity level lacking and my clothes fitting a little tighter. I decided to sign up for a workout program with Gbenga and I can’t express how happy I am with that decision. From the first session, Gbenga was supportive, and encouraging but firm and I have noticed so many changes from my first session until now. I am more confident in my body and stronger and my husband has noticed my energy and happiness level have improved. Testimonials are not something that I usually write. However, the positive experience and benefits I have received since working with Gbenga are something that I feel should be shared with others. It’s too good to keep to myself.

Two years ago, before I met Gbenga, I would wake up with so much pain and stiffness in my body that I could barely get out of bed. My knee was in so much pain that it was not possible to sit for long periods of time, including through my business meetings. It was at the point that if I didn’t get up every so often or walk enough during the day I ended up limping.

The pain and stiffness, as debilitating as it was, only made up a part of what I was experiencing. The emotional impact of how I was feeling, in a way, was more difficult. I didn’t like what I saw in the mirror, I didn’t like myself or who I was. At the same time, I was angry and frustrated with myself for feeling that way. It was a time when I felt unlovable and lost. Here I was, a person extremely successful and accomplished in her work life, completely stuck in her personal life. I felt unable to take the next step in my life, I just couldn’t.

Thankfully, a friend introduced me to the gym and, in particular, to Gbenga. This is where my step forward began. Gbenga not only trains the physical and nutritional but the emotional as well. He coaches the body, the mind, and the spirit since it is all connected. He is the whole package!

Gbenga began my training from where I was at physically and mentally, without unrealistic expectations. He simply built on the abilities I had at the time and moved forward from there. His programs are tailored to the individual and not a cookie-cutter program expected to fit everyone. You are not just a number, he truly cares about the human being you are and it translates into everything he does.

So, where am I now? I have lost approximately 105 pounds and I feel strong in myself. I jump out of bed in the morning without pain, sit for hours and no longer limp. My workouts are an integral part of my life. When I step into the gym, it’s like a meditation, time to myself. I have also incorporated other activities into my life such as snowshoeing and hiking. I have muscles that I didn’t know I could have. My outlook on life is back and more positive. Looks were never the goal, mobility was my goal. Strength. The ability to move about in my everyday life: play with the kids, shovel, and move around the house. I have accomplished all of this and more.

I have realized that it isn’t about comparing yourself to others but about being the best version of yourself. Gbenga provides an extensive amount knowledge, a team approach to your health journey, accountability and immense understanding and respect. Gbenga has become a household name for my family. All of my kids have now trained with him too. He really believes that if you feel better, you can share your gifts with others. Gbenga, what can I say?  This man has fire in him that needs to be set free.  The only way he can quench his fire is by giving of himself to others.  He does this by giving of himself through scripture, fitness, health, friendship, drive, devotion (Kristy and children) and his desire for health and happiness for his clients.

I have been a client of Gbenga for a while.  When I 1st met him, I was apprehensive as he was FIT and I was not.  Would he look upon me as an unfit person with no drive or a challenge.  Well of course he took the “challenge” route.  I was never made to feel inferior nor unhealthy or anything else of the sort.  He took the time to find out what my goal(s) were and what makes me tick. 

It’s been a while now and I know I have come a long way.  I am in a much better place mentally and physically thanks to Gbenga not letting me slack off 🙂 but giving me encouragement.  I work out with Gbenga and some others and love the friendship we have built with each other.  Love the encouragement, support and the talks.  Gbenga’s wife Kristy, what can I say, such a positive person with a very soft welcoming heart, not afraid to cry, not afraid to be who she is.  Gbenga and Kristy have awesome killer workouts and I love them and the workouts too.

Yes, we all fall off the wagon along the way, but its our choice if we want to get back on and continue on to better health.  Once we make that decision, its great to have those (Gbenga/Kristy) alongside to “hold our hand” and say its ok, “let’s get this party started”. 🙂

Life requires movement 


In a culture where dieting and exercise appear to be ubiquitous, it can be overwhelming to discern how to achieve the much desired media images of what constitutes the ‘right’ body size. When I started training with Gbenga, I was initially focused on weight loss, and perceived exercise as the means toward that goal. I no longer use the scale as the tool to measure my health and wellness, but rather my ability to move my body and engage in the activities I enjoy. Because of training, I have been able to enjoy biking over 20k and to play with my grandchildren without becoming fatigued or limited in activities. Training with Gbenga has allowed me to recover lost physical strength and flexibility. I have learned that the goal is really to have a healthy body, which means being able to move freely, eat nutritious foods, and protect my physical and mental health through regular exercise. Gbenga has supported me in achieving and maintaining this goal. He designs exercises that are challenging but attainable, and always has just the right amount of enthusiasm and support to motivate his clients toward challenging themselves. There are many individuals marketing themselves on social media promising fast results, but when it comes to our bodies and health, we need to focus on adopting healthy lifestyles that allow us to live our lives to the fullest. I had the pleasure of working with Gbenga Adeniyi for several years and I cannot recommend him highly enough.  He is an exceptional personal trainer who truly cares about the well-being of his clients and goes above and beyond to help them achieve their fitness goals. In 2016, he coached me for two amateur body-buidling competitions for the Canadian Physique Association (formerly the Ontario Physique Association) where I placed in the Top 10 Provincially in both the Open and Master’s Bikini categories. 

From the very first session, I was impressed by his professionalism and expertise. He took the time to get to know me and my fitness goals, and then created a personalized workout plan that was tailored to my specific needs and abilities.

  1. What made you sign up for the program? Were you happy with your decision?

Gbenga and Kristy hosted a community fitness boot camp (I like to call it booty camp), where I got to know Gbenga as a trainer.  He was encouraging and fun, and very challenging.  During the session, my family suffered a traumatic event, and Gbenga showed genuine caring and concern for us.  I loved those sessions.  They offered a social outing since there were a bunch of community members that I knew there, and I was doing something great for my health, which felt empowering.  When Gbenga offered me 1:1 coaching, I was very excited to try it out.

  1. Was there anything that made you think twice before signing up, or was it an impulse decision?

(translation: Was it “OK, this is interesting, I will think some more about it and come back”? or was it, “OMG, I want this like right now!”?)

I was hesitant about the price, but because I wasn’t paying Gym fees (the gym was closed through COVID), I could afford the expense, and I wanted to feel like I was doing something for myself.  As a single mom, I want my kids to see me taking care of my health.

  1. How did this program transform your body and your fitness levels? Please give specific results.

My butt and shoulders look so good; I get compliments out of the blue from people who don’t even know that I’m working on them.  I feel stronger. I really notice when I have to lift something heavy.  I was moving furniture because I was painting and I moved my buffet and hutch by myself!  When I had to change my tires, I just tossed my all seasons in the van and lifted my winters up onto their storage shelf (which is above my head) with no issue.  I’m super woman!  I also noticed that my balance is much better.  I’ve taken up paddle boarding very easily.  I’ve often felt clumsy, but not anymore! 

  1. How is this program different from others on the market?

Gbenga provides spiritual support and offers dietary advice and encouragement.  He often messages and checks in after workouts to see how I’m feeling.

  1. What is one thing this program offers that no one else does, or at least no one else does as well?
